Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, the Pet Nanny has full Public Liability Insurance
You probably want to know the person who’ll be spending time with your pets – I get it! That’s why I offer a complimentary meet and greet, so we can catch up in person before you officially become a client. You can introduce me to your pets and if you (and they) are happy, we can start working together. This meeting also offers a chance for you to show me how to access your property if required, for example if I’ll need a key to get in.
I’ll need at least 48 hrs notice for dog walks and at least 7 days for pet sitting or house sitting. This is to ensure that I’m available for you, and can move some things around if needed to fit you in. Sometimes I can take on last minute jobs, so always ask me if you’re not sure – but as much notice as possible is appreciated!
I understand that life happens, and things may come up meaning you need to change or cancel your booking. Cancellations within 24hrs of the booking will incur a 50% cancellation fee – but please reach out to me before you cancel so we can chat about your circumstances.
This is completely up to you! Some of my clients like to give me a spare key or keep one in a safe place on the property for me so I can get in for pet sitting or dog walking. Sometimes dogs are kept outside with a lead available so I don’t need to get into your house at all. We can discuss this when you get in touch.
In the rare case that your pet gets sick or injured while in my charge, I’ll act quickly to ensure they receive the care they need. This may involve giving you a call or making a quick trip to the vet. When you book a Pet Nanny job, you’ll set up a profile through the booking system. The online portal lets you add your vet details and emergency contacts which means I’ll have this information immediately on-hand in case of an emergency.

If this is your first time booking with The Pet Nanny, give me a call, or fill in the form on my contact page and I can call you back at a convenient time. We can then chat about your needs and set up a meet and greet. From there, I’ll set you up as a client and give you access to our online booking portal so you can make bookings yourself whenever you want!

In the online portal you can:

·        Make and cancel bookings

·        Add vet details

·        Add emergency contacts

·        Pay and view current and past invoices

·        Receive cute pet pics from me

·        Receive live updates when the visit starts and ends

·        Receive feedback on the visit.

The portal is really easy to use and you can even download an app for your Android or iOS phone so you can manage your bookings on-the-go!

You can pay me in cash on the day of the job, or if you prefer to pay by direct debit, I will send an invoice after your job is complete with payment details included.

I sure can! I have experience with lots of pet medications and can help out with most medical requirements. Let me know what you need, and I can advise if I can do it! Of course, if your pet gets sick or injured while on my watch, I’ll take them straight to your vet.

Generally I will walk your pooch around your local neighbourhood, ensuring it’s an environment they’re familiar with. Perhaps you have a favourite park or walking track you’d like me to take them to. I’ll chat with you about where you want them walked, and can always provide a suggestion of my own
No, I don’t do group walks as I believe I should give your dog my full attention. Personalised one-on-one walks are a part of the unique service The Pet Nanny offers, and I really find that dogs benefit from this. Of course, if you have more than one dog I’ll walk them together
Yes, my preference is to keep dogs on-leash at all times during the walk. This is the best way for me to keep them safe and ensure they’re close to hand if any dangers arise (like other cranky dogs at the park!). It also helps me ensure we keep to our allotted timeframe for the walk. If you prefer an off-leash adventure for your dog, we can definitely discuss this.

My personalised dog walking services start from $35 for half an hour. See my Services page for more pricing info.

I’m proud to offer some of the most competitive pricing in the industry, and I always look after my regular clients. This is why I offer a $5 discount for clients that book 3 or more walks per week in one booking.

A routine cat visit generally involves feeding, freshening their water, emptying the litter tray, cleaning up the area and plenty of pats and cuddles (if your cat is into that kind of thing!). I’ll typically be with your cat for about half an hour.
Cat visits can be once or twice daily as required. (If you need a second daily visit it will be discounted.)
So many! I’ve looked after cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, mice, fish, birds, chickens, bearded dragons and even pet snakes.
There’s a set rate for a visit with one pet ($27) and a rate for multiple pets ($35).
I sure do! I can stay overnight at your house to keep your pet company and maintain your property’s safety while you’re away. I can also perform house sitting duties like watering plants, collecting mail and more. Check out my Services page for more information on house sitting.
